When it rains, it pours

So we got flooded in on Saturday - like, for real. It's a good thing I didn't go into labor because we wouldn't have been able to get to the hospital!

Caleb and I had SO much fun walking around barefooted through the water. It kinda felt like being a kid all over again! But thanks to Alvin's amazing drainage system, by the time we got back to our house a lot of the streets were totally drained!

My due date is tomorrow!!! Saw the doctor today and she says baby should be arriving any day now. :-D Yay!!!

You didn't get any water in your house, did you? If not, then yes, it looks like a lot of fun!

I can't wait till the baby comes!

Nope! No water in the house!! I guess I should have included that detail. LOL :-)

I am SO excited about being a mommy, Lord willing. I know it's going to mean no sleep, lots of work, etc. but that's fine with me! Sometimes I honestly thought we'd never have kids...so I'm glad I was wrong.

Love ya!!

Could have had a water birth . . grin!

Glad the house was undamaged; hope baby arrives healthy, safely and soon

The best part is, you think you'll love being a mommy now--but when baby comes you'll realize it's even better than you could have imagined!

I hope you take pictures of your tummy these last few days before the baby comes--and if you post the pictures, that would be great too. :)

So are you going to the hospital instead of having a midwife? I guess I never heard that you changed.

Hope things go well for you in the next coming weeks!

Love,
Ev xx

Hi Ev! I never really planned on going to a midwife - our insurance doesn't pay for them. But the hospital is about 45 mins away so I hope I get there in time. :-) Not that things will go really fast - I just hope I don't wait it out at home for too long!

That rain was incredible! Mark went to the grocery store for me (we were trying to leave for Dallas/Fort Worth) and he got stuck in the rain and it took him a long time to find a way home that wasn't too flooded! When we left the feeders were very full of water and there were dozens and dozens of cars stranded in it because their drivers apparently thought their car was part boat or something... I've never seen such bad flooding happen so quickly before!

I wonder if the reason you haven't posted in a while is because you've had your baby?! I hope that all goes well for you and your blessing.

Awaiting pictures! :D

Looks exciting. Since we live on a farm we never have to deal with flooding........but it can get rather wet and muddy and you have to have 4WD to get around. (:
